Last year's Christmas camping gear! |
One year later, we are enjoying Peggy Sue. I have new and different things that I want for our camping adventures. I suppose that every year camping enthusiasts have new lists of wants and needs. Gear is constantly changing and improving. These are my camping wishlist items that might spark some excitement for you or someone you love.
Toas-Tite Aluminum Sandwich Grill
Pie Irons are a classic way to make treats for any meal of the day. From savory to sweet, you can create endless pocket goodies. I could see this being used with either a build your own pocket meal or dessert bar. Each person could select their options and fill their pocket for toasting. How fun?
Duraflame Cube Infrared Stove
If you are looking for a way to heat up your small space or add some ambiance, the Duralast Cube Heater is a good addition. This heater is bigger than I realized even though the measurements were online. I didn't get out a tape measure and look at the measurements. Regardless, this heater can sit on my counter or the floor without taking up too much space. Enjoy a fire like glow without heat. Or use the 750 or 1500 watt heating options.
You can run the Duraflame Cube Heater with a fire glow for effect or with two heat modes. |
I am in love with these fire effects. This may be in use during Christmas at our house! |
While the firelike glow isn't entirely real, I still like the glow. It is perfect for our space in every way. This is an economical and pretty way to heat your camper! Why leave the fire outside when you can enjoy the same view indoors?
Swig Wine Tumbler
The Swig Wine Tumbler is like the sippy cup of wine glasses! And before you turn your nose up at this great invention, keep reading. The insulated cup comes with a sealed lid. Keep your beverage at the perfect temperature and free from spills. Because they aren't breakable, these are perfect for camping! Pack your Pinor and Swig wine tumbler! Better yet, get your loved one a great bottle of wine and a tumbler for a wine pairing gift.

Tea or Kitchen Towels with a Camping Theme
If you are a crafter, you can whip up some tea towels or kitchen towels for your camper using a camping themed fabric for this project.
To make simple kitchen embellished towels, start with a plain white towel. I have used bar mop towels that you can find at Walmart for about $5 for a pack of 5 or 6. Sew on the fabric of your choice to the bottom using a 5 or 6-inch wide strip. Add some rick rack or decorative trip for a little more flair.

Tea towels are another option. Use a pattern and the fabric of your choice to create your own custom towel. There are lots of options for this on Pinterest.
ENO Eagles Nest Outfitters - DoubleNest Hammock, Portable Hammock for Two, Red/Charcoal
Before our first family camping trip last November, I purchased an ENO hammock. I use it on every trip, and I would recommend this brand to anyone. You can use this at the campground, at home or even on a long day hike to take a rest. It is lightweight and packs into a compact bag. Anyone would LOVE this as a gift!
Hammock time is the best time! |
Telescoping Rotating Marshmallow Roasting Sticks
As a child, we roasted marshmallows on sticks and coat hangers. I still like the simple pleasure of these options. However, telescoping marshmallow roasting sticks are excellent because they are easy to store. The length can be adjusted. Because of the adjustable length, you can store in small places. There are many different brands available. I sought out something with a handle that wouldn't get hot.
You can remove the red caps to use for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs. Extend the stick by pulling outward from the fork end. |
We are avid marshmallow roasters and s'more makers. If you are in this same boat, you need these telescoping marshmallow roasting sticks in your life.
Dephen Solar String Lights
We have more than one set of decorative lights for our awning. I anticipate the warm glow of these lights as the daylight drifts into dusk. Solar lights allow you to have lights that come on at just the right time with stored solar energy. If you are boondocking, these would work well since they wouldn't drain from other energy sources.
A small solar panel has a stick end that can be placed on the ground or wherever you choose. A switch on the back will turn them on and off. A separate switch changes the lighting mode. |
This set from Dephen is waterproof. You can select from multicolor, warm glow or white. I chose the warm glow set because I like the amber illumination. There is an on/off switch on the back of the solar panel. You can also change to several different lighting modes.
I tried out these solar lights at home and thought they looked very pretty! |
These are inexpensive enough that you might like a set for both home and the campground. I am considering some for our deck. And these would work well for Christmas decorations too!
UNO Wilderness Game
Growing up, I loved playing cards with my cousins and aunts. I still enjoy cards at family reunions! You can always play cards with a regular deck. I still enjoy a good game of UNO. I recently came across this Wilderness Edition on Amazon. At less than $6, this would make a stocking stuffer or simple camping happy for a buddy that enjoys the outdoors.

While you are at it, you might want to check out Hoyle Waterproof Clear Playing Cards. There are so many games you can play with a standard deck of cards. Some of my favorites include Liverpool Rummy and Oh Hell!
