Our house is feeling pretty merry right now! |
We aren't doing any camping this month, but I'm getting things cleaned up and prepped for a new camping year. This has given me more time at home with my family to catch up on podcasts, cooking and more. December has been a banner month for this year. Here are a few things that I am enjoying right now!
On Black Friday, I ordered a new Amazon Echo Dot for our bedroom. I have programmed this little gem with an evening and morning routine that I really enjoy. I have spa music that plays for thirty minutes as I am drifting off to sleep. In the morning, she is programmed to give me the news, weather and play my favorite station as I am getting ready. The sound quality works great for me. The promotional price of $29.99 ends today (December 21st at 4 p.m.). So, there is still time to order one at the sale price!
My Amazon Echo Dot is perfect for my bedroom. I've really enjoyed it! I may order another one before the holiday prices go away. |
We did a lot of traveling in November. Two apps that I think anyone can use regardless of whether you are towing an RV are the Loves and Pilot Apps. They will help you locate nearby stations, give your information about deals and amenities. And if you are towing an RV, they are helpful in locating RV lanes for gas.
If you are traveling over the holidays or just have some time off, check out a new podcast. Recently, I've been burning through Dirty John. It's the real-life story of an interior designer in Southern California that was deceived by a man she met online. This is also a series on Bravo right now as well.
I've also been listening to Hell and Gone. It is a 14-year-old murder case from Arkansas. It's a weekly podcast that you can catch up on over the holidays. Podcasts are such an interesting way to pass the time in a car. It's something I do while traveling for work.
Now that I'm done with so much traveling, I'm enjoying being at home and spending some extra time with my family. This has also given me some time to try out some new recipes. I recently purchased the Campground Gourmet. It is my first electronic cookbook. I have really enjoyed trying out these recipes at home using my iPad. It makes me feel so tech savvy in the kitchen. And every recipe that I have tried has been excellent.
I've been testing out several recipes from the Campground Gourmet. |
And, I may be late to the party on this, but I didn't know that you can download the Kindle App on your mobile devices. I don't have a Kindle, but I do have the Kindle app that I use for my Campground Gourmet. If you have an Amazon Prime Membership, you can download over a 1,000 free titles to read. Plus, your membership includes magazines too! Where have I been? Living under a rock? I downloaded The Handmaid's Tale last month, and have enjoyed several magazines. If you have an iPad and have a Prime membership, take advantage of this! I love it!
You can't have Christmas without sugar cookies. My go-to recipe for both cookies and the icing are from Sally's Baking Addiction. These are the cookies that I make for holidays, birthdays, tailgates or any celebration really! There is still time to make some before Christmas! With a hint of almond, this recipe is a keeper and will have everyone asking for more. They truly are as tasty as they are beautiful.
These sugar cookies have a hint of almond flavor and turn out perfect every time! And this icing is so much easier and tastes better than royal icing. |
And since I'm not camping this month, I am loving these Leopard Print Heels. These are perfect for anything really from wearing with jeans or black leggings or a fun dress. They aren't too high and look much more expensive than they really are!
What are some new finds that you have discovered this month? With a little extra time off during the holidays, maybe you will have the time to read a book, cook something new or just take a back road and see the lights. Until next time!
