Homemade graham crackers and marshmallows made these s'mores a Thanksgiving favorite a couple of years ago! |
I have a slight obsession with s' mores. Over time, I have experimented with homemade marshmallows and graham crackers (which are delish by the way). They are crunchy, sweet and gooey. Making a dessert over an open flame can bring sheer joy. We have been experimenting with some new flavor combinations. While I love a classic graham cracker and milk chocolate s' more, there are so many other options to discover!
Our new family favorite are s 'mores with Keebler Fudge Stripe cookies. You don't need extra chocolate, and these cookies are perfectly crispy. My husband prefers these now to the traditional variety. I like that we only need two things for s' mores.
Fudge stripes make the perfect cookie and chocolate combo for s'mores! |
Recently, we tried a brand new combo that is just right for fall. I call it the Lemon Meringue S'more. You start with 2 ginger snaps. Smear one with a little lemon curd. Toast your marshmallow and sandwich between your ginger snaps.
For some, this might seem like an unlikely combo, but s'mores don't always have to include chocolate. |
We call this the Lemon Meringue S'more! |
If you are looking for additional s' more ideas, I've created five flavor combinations to try. One is even made with Ritz crackers. I encourage you to play with different varieties of chocolate and cookies. You could even make a s' mores bar and let guest create their own combo!
And, if you just can't get enough of s'mores but would like to just bake them without a campfire, try some Nutella S'mores Bars. This a crowd-pleaser that will go fast! I've taken these to bunco and for tailgating. Who doesn't love Nutella?
You can bake s'mores bars at home for a campfire treat without the campfire! |
No matter what you prepare, you can add some fun tags to treat bags. These work well to give everyone their own s' more kit or party favors to go home with guests. I'm actually going to do this for our son's upcoming party. Just download these printable tags and attach them to a paper bag filled with everything a guest would need to make a s'more!
I love printable tags. You can print these at home and make treat bags to your hearts content! |
And if you love s' mores as much as we do, try this new book on our favorite camp time treat - S'mores: Gooey, Melty, Crunchy Riffs on the Campfire Classic. I even included this book in my Fall Gear Guide. Be sure to check out this book or my guide for additional fun fall ideas.
Until next time...
